Home Health Initiative
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the national rollout of the Home Health Quality Initiative (HHQI) in 2003.
The Initiative is a national effort to improve the quality of care given to millions of Americans who use home health care services across the country. In 2002, almost 60,000 elderly and disabled Americans in Georgia received care from about 90 Medicare-certified home health agencies.
GMCF works with home health agencies throughout the state to improve the quality of care they provide while also helping consumers better use the quality performance data.
