Nursing homes in Georgia are being encouraged to reduce the daily use of restraints to less than 5 percent, in the new Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes Campaign. Currently the nation has a restraint rate of 6.4 percent, while Georgia is at 7.5 percent. We have 143 nursing homes that are already less than 5 percent in restraints, while 35 nursing homes are at 0 percent. Great improvements have been made in the past 6 years with restraint usage.
