Thank you, GAPHC!

Members of the GMCF Physician Office team were on hand October 24, 2007, to honor clinicians from the Georgia Association for Primary Health Care, who had gathered in Savannah for their 30th annual conference.
GMCF thanked Georgia Mountain Health Services, McKinney Community Health Center, The Family Health Center at Cobb, and Oakhurst Medical Center for completing Cultural Competency training as part of the CMS CLAS initiative. Also presented with special certificate plaques of completion were Tracy Rosenbaum, DO, Albany; and Maristella Riley, MD, Palmetto.
The Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) standards are designed to correct inequities that currently exist in providing health services and to make these services more responsive to the individual needs of all patients. The online physician training modules are offered through the U.S. Office of Minority Health (OMH).
Bill Wilson, GMCF Physician Office Project Manager, and Felicia Mobley, GMCF Provider Relations Coordinator, were on hand to congratulate the honorees.
