Working to decrease the overall diabetic complication rates in Georgia, defined as poor blood sugar control, diabetic retinopathy, lower extremity amputations, ESRD, and cardiovascular complications associated with diabetes.

Diabetes in Georgia: 7th leading cause of death in state. For every 10 deaths where diabetes is the primary cause of death, 25 other deaths can be attributed to complications of diabetes.
