Doctor’s Office Quality – Information Technology (DOQ-IT)

At no cost, GMCF can assist your practice in the adoption of Health Information Technology (HIT).

The migration to HIT is inevitable. Yet, most practices are encountering many unknowns and uncertainties regarding the transformation to technology. HIT includes many applications such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Document Management and e-Prescribing. Do you have the following questions regarding HIT?

  • What are the benefits in adopting HIT?
  • What is the best solution for my practice?
  • What are the costs associated with different technologies?
  • What are the challenges in implementing HIT?
  • Where can I find resources for analyzing all the possible health information technologies?

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has contracted with GMCF to assist your practice in the HIT transition. GMCF has the technological expertise and vendor-specific knowledge to assist your practice in the adoption and implementation of HIT. Because this national initiative is funded by CMS, there is no cost to you. GMCF's advisory services are offered to save you time and money.

DOQ-IT is a national initiative to promote the adoption of HIT in physician offices. The objectives of DOQ-IT are to promote the adoption of HIT and ensure that practices are using it to the fullest capacity to improve clinical outcomes. Through the free advisory services provided to physician offices nationwide, DOQ-IT aims to improve physician access to patient information and enhance physician communication with patients, thereby improving clinical outcomes.

The enrollment deadline for the DOQ-IT project was August 1st, 2006. Any practices/persons requesting GMCF's DOQ-IT services after then should complete the information request form in order to participate in the next enrollment period, which will be in the summer of 2008. A GMCF representative will contact you once the request is submitted.
