The National Immunization Program (NIP) is a part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As a disease-prevention program, NIP provides leadership for the planning, coordination, and conduct of immunization activities nationwide.

Institute for Vaccine Safety
The purpose of the Institute for Vaccine Safety is to obtain and disseminate objective information on the safety of recommended immunizations. The Institute: provides a forum for dissemination of data regarding specific issues concerning the safety of immunizations, investigates safety questions where insufficient data are available to provide definitive conclusions, conducts methodological and empirical research on post-licensure vaccine safety evaluation, and undertakes individual research projects to obtain specific information regarding vaccine safety when existing information about the safety of a specific vaccine is insufficient or flawed.

National Coalition for Adult Immunization (NCAI)

The National Coalition for Adult Immunization (NCAI) is a network of more than 130 organizations, including medical associations, voluntary organizations, advocacy groups, vaccine manufacturers, government health agencies, and state and local coalitions. The Coalition was formed to make the most efficient use of public and private resources to achieve Healthy People national goals in adolescent and adult immunization. Through partnerships, NCAI values a commitment to better public health for all adolescents and adults through immunization; proactive leadership and advocacy; support of science-based recommendations; timely, accurate, accessible and audience-appropriate information; and the knowledge and motivation that are essential for successful immunization programs. The scope of diseases for which safe and effective vaccines are available to prevent illness in adults and adolescents includes (but is not limited to) diphtheria, hepatitis A and B, influenza, measles, mumps, pneumococcal disease, rubella, tetanus, and varicella.
